The Arvada Police Department Records Unit has the responsibility for maintaining and releasing criminal justice records to the public, other law enforcement agencies, and insurance companies.
The Records Unit also verifies information related to accidents, arrests, warrants, citations, contacts made by officers on the streets, and offenders in the Department's records system. They work in state and national databases (CCIC/NCIC) to enter/modify/cancel warrants, missing people and stolen items.
The Records Unit is responsible for disseminating the City of Arvada's Sex Offender List to the public. The list of registered sex offenders living in Arvada is available to anyone who requests the information, free of charge.

The Arvada Police Department Evidence Unit preserves and maintains the integrity of approximately 40,000 items of property and vehicles seized by department personnel.
Property and vehicles can be seized when known to be or are implicated in criminal activity or when the property has been found or recovered. It is then released back to its rightful owner.
The Evidence Unit is a secured area with limited and controlled access. Property or vehicles seized by employees will remain in the custody and control of the Evidence Unit until a disposition through the criminal justice system has been reached and identified owners are established.
Evidence is available for release by appointment only during the following hours (excluding holidays):
- Monday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
- Tuesday 12 - 4 p.m.
- Wednesday Closed
- Thursday 12 - 4 p.m.
- Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
